Lisa Chapman's projects emphasize collaborative solutions for advancing the textile and apparel industry through innovative educational practices and cutting-edge research. As a Professor, Director of Graduate Programs, Associate Department Head, and Faculty member in the Textiles and Apparel, Technology, and Management Department at Wilson College of Textiles, she is committed to fostering an environment that encourages creativity and technological advancement. With a Ph.D. and an M.S. in Textile Technology and Management, along with a B.A. in Fibers, Lisa brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her role. Her research interests are diverse, spanning color and dye chemistry and sciences, educational innovation, textile design, fashion, and mass customization. She is particularly passionate about integrating technology into textile education and practice, ensuring that students are well-prepared for the evolving demands of the industry. Lisa's expertise extends to 3D apparel CAD, digital printing, knitting, simulation and modeling, textile design, and textile fabrication. Her work in these areas has contributed significantly to advancements in textile technology, particularly in the realms of 3D body scanning and mass customization. She is dedicated to exploring how these technologies can be leveraged to enhance consumer experiences and drive sustainable practices within the fashion industry. In addition to her research and teaching responsibilities, Lisa is actively involved in developing curriculum and programs that reflect the latest trends and technologies in textiles and apparel.
