Ludovica Chiavacc

Empowering stakeholders through research on pain management and anesthesia, Ludovica Chiavaccini serves as a Clinical Associate Professor of Anesthesiology at the University of Florida's College of Veterinary Medicine. Her extensive expertise encompasses a wide range of interests, including general anesthesia, spinal and epidural anesthesia, chronic pain, equine anesthesia, interventional pain medicine, locoregional anesthesia, and the study of neuropathic pain markers. Dr. Chiavaccini's academic journey began at the University of Pisa in Italy, where she earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree. Her passion for anesthesiology led her to Mississippi State University, where she completed a residency in the field, honing her skills and deepening her understanding of veterinary anesthesia. Her dedication and proficiency in the field are further evidenced by her board certification from the American College of Veterinary Anesthesia and Analgesia. At the University of Florida, Dr. Chiavaccini is deeply involved in teaching and mentoring the next generation of veterinarians. She teaches a variety of courses, including the Core Clinical Clerkship in Anesthesiology, Advanced Anesthesiology Clerkship, Large Animal Anesthesiology, and Veterinary Clinical Pharmacology. Her commitment to education is reflected in her innovative teaching methods and her ability to inspire students to pursue excellence in veterinary medicine. Dr. Chiavaccini's research interests are diverse and impactful, focusing on improving pain management techniques and advancing the field of anesthesia.
