Maxime Polleri
Professor Maxime Polleri is focused on innovative teaching methods in the field of anthropology, with a particular emphasis on the governance of disasters and waste. As an Assistant Professor in the Department of Anthropology at Université Laval, he brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to his students, fostering a deep understanding of complex issues surrounding nuclear topics and waste management. His research is centered on the governance of disasters, with a keen interest in the challenges associated with nuclear waste disposal. Currently, Professor Polleri is examining the intricate process of finding a suitable host for Canada's high-level radioactive waste disposal, a topic that has significant implications for both environmental safety and public policy. In addition to his work on nuclear topics, Professor Polleri is deeply engaged in the anthropological study of misinformation. He explores how misinformation spreads and impacts public perception, particularly in the context of science and technology. His approach combines traditional anthropological methods with contemporary issues, providing a comprehensive perspective on how societies manage and respond to misinformation. Professor Polleri's dedication to his field is evident in his commitment to both research and teaching. He is a member of the Graduate School of International Studies, where he collaborates with colleagues and students to advance the understanding of global issues related to disaster governance and waste management.
