Lorrie Elchert

Professor building collaborative efforts in healthcare education and practice, Dr. Lorrie Elchert is an esteemed Assistant Professor at the College of Nursing at Michigan State University. With a robust educational background, she holds a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree from Chamberlain College of Nursing, a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree, and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree from the University of Toledo. Additionally, she earned a Diploma from the Toledo Hospital School of Nursing, which laid the foundation for her extensive career in nursing. Dr. Elchert's research interests are deeply rooted in practical and impactful areas of healthcare, including Hospice Care, Nurse Precepting, and Asthma. Her work in Disaster Medicine and Medical Missions highlights her commitment to global health and emergency preparedness. She actively participates in NP Precepting, fostering the next generation of nurse practitioners through mentorship and guidance.
