

William Horne
Dedicated to building bridges between disciplines in veterinary medicine and the humanities, William Horne is a Professor Emeritus in Small Animal Clinical Sciences at the College of Veterinary Medicine at Michigan State University. With a career spanning several decades, Dr. Horne has made significant contributions to the field of veterinary medicine, particularly in the area of small animal care. He earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from Iowa State University in 1981, laying the foundation for his extensive career in veterinary sciences. Dr. Horne further honed his expertise by completing pharmacological studies at Cornell University in 1984, followed by Residency Training in 1989. His commitment to interdisciplinary learning led him to pursue studies in Moral Philosophy and Psychology/Ethics at Princeton Theological Seminary in 2018. This unique combination of veterinary science and ethical studies has enriched his approach to animal care, emphasizing the importance of ethical considerations in veterinary practices. Throughout his tenure at Michigan State University, Dr. Horne has been a dedicated educator and mentor, inspiring countless students to pursue careers in veterinary medicine.
