David Thornton

Dr. David Thornton is instrumental in shaping the musical landscape at Michigan State University, where he serves as an Assistant Professor of Music, Associate Director of Bands, and Director of the Spartan Marching Band. Since joining the faculty in 2015, Dr. Thornton has been a pivotal figure in the university's music department, imparting his expertise in instrumental conducting and marching band methods to aspiring musicians. In addition to his teaching responsibilities, Dr. Thornton is the conductor of the MSU Symphony Band, a role in which he brings his passion for music to life through dynamic performances.
