Eric Aronoff
Eric Aronoff is an Associate Professor at Michigan State University's Residential College in the Arts and Humanities. He earned his PhD in English from Rutgers University and a BA in Comparative Literature from Princeton University. His academic journey has been marked by a deep engagement with 19th and early 20th-century American literature, anthropology, and the intricate theories of culture, race, and nation. Aronoff's scholarly pursuits extend into the realms of literature, the environment, and science fiction, reflecting a diverse array of interests that inform his teaching and research. His book, "Composing Cultures," delves into the vibrant debates surrounding the concept of culture among artists, literary critics, and anthropologists during the early 20th century. This work highlights his ability to weave together complex ideas and historical contexts, offering fresh insights into cultural discourse.
