Amber Burgett

Professor with a deep interest in student development and academic advising, Amber Burgett is a distinguished member of the academic community at Washington University in St. Louis. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Denison University and a Ph.D. in Aquatic Ecology from Washington University. Her academic journey has been marked by a commitment to fostering student success and a passion for the natural sciences. Currently, Amber serves as the Assistant Dean of Advising in the College of Arts & Sciences at Washington University. In this role, she is dedicated to guiding students through their educational paths, ensuring they have the resources and support needed to thrive. Her approach to advising is student-centered, focusing on empowering individuals to achieve their academic and personal goals. Before her tenure at Washington University, Amber was a Biology professor and the Director of General Education at Wittenberg University. Her experience in these roles has equipped her with a comprehensive understanding of curriculum development and student engagement, which she brings to her current position. Amber's enthusiasm for education extends beyond the classroom. She is passionate about facilitating student growth and enjoys engaging with students during their academic journey. Her dedication to student success is evident in her approachable demeanor and her willingness to go the extra mile to support her advisees.
