Professor Lakia M. Scott is focused on innovative teaching methods in the field of education, particularly within urban settings. As an Assistant Professor in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction at Learning and Teaching Rutgers University-Camden, she dedicates her research to creating urban literacy initiatives and enhancing multicultural awareness in teacher education programs. Her work is instrumental in understanding and promoting the academic and cultural relevance of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). With nearly a decade of teaching experience, Professor Scott has made significant contributions to the academic community through her extensive publications.
