Sumita Trivedi

Dr. Sumita Trivedi specializes in the field of oncology, with a particular focus on head and neck cancers. As an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the UNC School of Medicine, Division of Oncology, she is deeply engaged in advancing the understanding and treatment of these complex diseases. Her research interests are centered around clinical trials, translational research, cellular therapy, and immunotherapy, aiming to develop innovative therapeutic strategies that improve patient outcomes. Dr. Trivedi's academic journey began at St. George’s University of London, where she earned her medical degree. She then pursued her residency at Emory University, where she honed her clinical skills and developed a keen interest in oncology. Following her residency, she completed a fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania, further specializing in oncology and gaining valuable experience in cutting-edge research and patient care. At UNC, Dr. Trivedi is actively involved in both clinical practice and research, working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to translate scientific discoveries into effective treatments. Her dedication to improving cancer care through clinical trials and translational research is reflected in her commitment to advancing the field of immunotherapy and cellular therapy.
