

Susan Haws
Professor Susan Haws is focused on innovative teaching methods in the realm of public health education. As an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Health Behavior at the UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health, she brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her students. Her research interests are diverse and impactful, encompassing health-promoting schools, teacher professional development, prevention of adolescent health risk behaviors, and youth mentoring. Susan's academic journey is deeply rooted in the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she earned both her Master of Public Health and PhD in Health Behavior and Health Education. In addition to her academic role, Susan is the founder and Executive Director of the Insight Colearning Center. At this center, she applies her research and expertise to create programs that enhance the educational and personal development of students.
