Jon Ehrman
Professor at the School of Biomedical Engineering at Vanderbilt University, Jon Ehrman is an esteemed Assistant Professor of the Practice, renowned for his dedication to advancing the field of bioelectronics and non-invasive physiological sensing. With a keen interest in enhancing undergraduate research experiences in STEM, Professor Ehrman plays a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of engineers and scientists. At Vanderbilt, he directs the SyBBURE Searle Undergraduate Research & Design Program, where he is responsible for the development and execution of comprehensive research, personal, and professional mentoring sessions. This program supports 52 interdisciplinary undergraduate students, providing them with invaluable opportunities to engage in cutting-edge research and design projects. His leadership in this program underscores his commitment to fostering a collaborative and innovative learning environment. Professor Ehrman's academic journey began with a B.S. in Physics, Mathematics, and Statistics from Miami University, where he cultivated a strong foundation in analytical and quantitative skills. He later pursued his Ph.D. in Physics at Vanderbilt University, where he honed his expertise in bioelectronics and non-invasive physiological sensing technologies. His research contributions have been instrumental in advancing the understanding and application of these technologies in various biomedical contexts. In addition to his research and teaching responsibilities, Professor Ehrman is actively involved in numerous professional organizations and conferences, where he shares his insights and findings with the broader scientific community. His work has been published in several peer-reviewed journals, reflecting his commitment to advancing knowledge and innovation in his field.
