As a licensed clinical social worker and Senior Social Worker, she brings a wealth of practical experience to her role as an Assistant Professor of Practice at the Steve Hicks School of Social Work at The University of Texas at Austin. With a robust educational background, Heather holds a Master of Science in Social Work, a second master's degree in Public Health, and a bachelor's degree in Psychology. Her academic journey has equipped her with a comprehensive understanding of the interplay between mental health, public health, and social services, allowing her to approach social work with a holistic perspective.
