Dr. Ziqiang Hu is a distinguished faculty member in the Mechanical Engineering department at Purdue University, where he has been instrumental in advancing research and education in energy-efficient and environmentally friendly technologies. With a Ph.D. earned in 1992, Dr. Hu has dedicated his career to the development of sustainable appliance technologies, making significant contributions to the field. Currently, Dr. Hu serves as the Vice President and Director of Research & Development at Suzhou Samsung Electronics Company, Ltd. In this role, he leads a dynamic team of over 500 engineers, driving innovation and excellence in the development of cutting-edge technologies. Under his leadership, the team introduces over 100 patents annually, showcasing a commitment to pioneering advancements in the industry. Before his tenure at Samsung, Dr. Hu made notable contributions at GE Appliances. He was at the forefront of the team that developed and launched GE's first horizontal washing machine platform in North America, a milestone in the company's history.
