Bogna Konior
Bogna Konior leads impactful research in the realms of philosophy, media, and ecology at the Collaborative Arts New York University. Her scholarly pursuits are deeply rooted in the intersections of continental philosophy, digital culture, and biotechnology, with a keen focus on the evolving landscape of technology in Eurasia. Bogna's work is characterized by a forward-thinking approach, exploring the implications of futurology and the transformative potential of digital culture. Currently, Bogna is engaged in two pioneering projects. The first delves into the works of Polish science fiction writer Stanislaw Lem, examining his contributions to the theory of biotechnological evolution. This project seeks to unravel the philosophical underpinnings of Lem's visionary ideas and their relevance to contemporary technological discourse. The second project investigates female Catholic mysticism as an early form of cybefeminism, offering a unique perspective on the historical intersections of gender, technology, and spirituality. In addition to her role at the university, Bogna Konior is a Research Fellow in the Antikythera Program on Speculative Computation at the Berggruen Institute. Her involvement in this program underscores her commitment to exploring speculative and innovative approaches to computation and technology. Furthermore, she serves as a mentor in the Synthetic Intelligence program at Medialab-Matadero Madrid, where she guides emerging talents in navigating the complexities of artificial intelligence and its societal implications. Bogna's work is not only academically rigorous but also deeply engaged with the pressing technological and philosophical questions of our time. Her research continues to inspire and challenge conventional narratives, positioning her as a leading voice in the discourse on digital culture and technology.
