

Stacy Patterson
Dr. Stacy Patterson is at the leading edge of research in distributed machine learning, edge and cloud computing, and networked systems. As an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, she brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her students and colleagues. Her academic journey began with a B.S. and B.A. from Rutgers University, followed by an M.S. and Ph.D. from the University of California, Santa Barbara. Before joining RPI, Dr. Patterson honed her expertise through postdoctoral positions at the University of California, Santa Barbara, and the Technion â Israel Institute of Technology. These experiences have significantly shaped her research trajectory, allowing her to contribute to the advancement of networked systems and computing technologies. Dr. Patterson's work focuses on the development of innovative solutions that enhance the efficiency and scalability of distributed systems. Her research has been instrumental in addressing challenges related to data processing and resource management in both edge and cloud environments. Through her work, she aims to bridge the gap between theoretical advancements and practical applications in computing. In addition to her research, Dr. Patterson is deeply committed to education and mentorship.
