Professor Toh-Ming Lu is building collaborative efforts in the field of advanced electronics and materials science as a Ray Palmer Baker Distinguished Professor at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Since joining the institute in 1982, he has been a pivotal figure in the Department of Physics, Applied Physics, and Astronomy. His research primarily delves into advanced thin film materials and interconnect technologies, areas crucial for the development of next-generation electronics. Professor Lu's prolific academic career is marked by the publication of over 580 research papers and the authorship of 9 influential books. His innovative contributions to the field are further underscored by the 12 patents he holds, reflecting his commitment to advancing technology and materials science. His work has not gone unnoticed, as he is a recipient of the prestigious Materials Research Society Medal Award, among other accolades.
