Professor advancing research in scenic design, Melpomene Katakalos, serves as an Associate Professor at Lehigh University, where she integrates over two decades of freelance experience into her pedagogy. Her extensive career in scenic design has seen her collaborate with prestigious institutions such as La Jolla Playhouse, the San Francisco Mime Troupe, and Berkeley's California Shakespeare Theatre.
