Jennifer J Adibi

Dr. Jennifer J. Adibi has expertise in perinatal epidemiology and is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Epidemiology at the School of Public Health, University of Pittsburgh-Bradford. Her research is centered on understanding the early pregnancy origins of exposure-related risks to the long-term health of children, with a particular emphasis on the role of the placenta. Dr. Adibi's work is pivotal in unraveling how maternal exposures can influence fetal development and subsequent health outcomes. Employing both observational and experimental methodologies, Dr. Adibi investigates the impact of various environmental exposures on fetal development. Her research delves into the effects of endocrine-disrupting chemicals, perfluoroalkyl substances, and endocrine-disrupting pesticides, as well as the influence of maternal adiposity. Through her studies, she aims to elucidate the complex interactions between these exposures and developmental processes during pregnancy. Dr. Adibi's outcomes are not only specific to pregnancy but also hold significant implications for the long-term health of the child. Her work contributes to a deeper understanding of the developmental origins of health and disease, providing insights that could inform public health strategies and interventions. Her dedication to advancing knowledge in this field underscores her commitment to improving maternal and child health outcomes through rigorous scientific inquiry.
