Dr. Rocio L. Segura conducts research on structural and earthquake engineering, with a keen focus on integrating machine learning techniques into civil engineering applications. As an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil, Environmental, and Sustainable Engineering at Santa Clara University, she brings a wealth of experience from both academia and industry. Dr. Segura earned her Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from Sherbrooke University in Canada, where she developed a strong foundation in applied probability and risk assessment. Before joining Santa Clara University, Dr. Segura worked as a structural engineer in both the public and private sectors, gaining practical insights that she now shares with her students.
