

Gil Appel
Gil Appel is an esteemed Assistant Professor of Marketing at the GW School of Business, where he brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise in the field of digital markets. His academic journey began with a B.A. in Management and Economics, which he obtained in 2003 from Tel-Aviv University, Israel. Furthering his education, he earned an M.B.A. in 2009 from the same institution. Driven by a passion for understanding the intricacies of marketing, he pursued a Ph.D. in Marketing, which he completed in 2016 at the Guilford Glazer Faculty of Business and Management at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, Israel. Professor Appel's research is at the forefront of the digital revolution, focusing on the dynamic evolution of digital markets and the nuanced behaviors of individuals within these environments. His scholarly work has been recognized and published in several prestigious academic journals, including Management Science, the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology (JPSP), the International Journal of Research in Marketing (IJRM), and the Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science (JAMS). Before his tenure at George Washington University, which began in 2020, Gil Appel was a valued member of the faculty at the Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California. During his time there, he was honored with the USC Marshall Golden Apple Award for Teaching Excellence, a testament to his dedication and effectiveness as an educator.
