Exploring the impact of mentalization strategies and psychoanalytic theory, Dr. Yulia Aleshina serves as a Professorial Lecturer in Clinical Psychology at the Psychological and Brain Sciences department of George Washington University. Since joining the Professional Psychology Program at the Columbian College of Arts & Sciences in 1997, Dr. Aleshina has been a pivotal figure in advancing the understanding of clinical supervision and therapeutic practices. Dr. Aleshina earned her Ph.D. from Moscow State University, where she laid the foundation for her extensive research in clinical psychology. Following her doctoral studies, she completed post-doctoral training in the United States, further honing her expertise in psychoanalytic theories and mentalization strategies. Her academic journey has been marked by a commitment to integrating theoretical knowledge with practical application, a hallmark of her teaching and research endeavors. In addition to her academic role, Dr. Aleshina maintains a private practice in Georgetown, DC.
