Clara Bosak-Schro

Clara Bosak-Schroeder is an Associate Professor and the Director of Undergraduate Studies in the Classics department at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC). With a profound interest in classical reception studies, creative nonfiction, museum practice, and environmental humanities, Bosak-Schroeder's research delves into the intricate relationships between humans and nonhumans as depicted in ancient Greek ethnography. Their work also explores how contemporary artists reinterpret ancient Mediterranean monuments, offering fresh perspectives on historical narratives. Bosak-Schroeder earned their PhD in Classical Studies from the University of Michigan, following a BA in Classical Languages from UC Berkeley. Their academic journey has been marked by a commitment to interdisciplinary approaches, bridging the gap between ancient studies and modern interpretive frameworks.
