Farida Selim

Dr. Farida Selim is an Associate Professor in the School for Engineering of Matter, Transport and Energy at Arizona State University-West, Glendale, AZ. With a profound expertise in materials science and semiconductor science, she has made significant contributions to the field through her innovative research and teaching. Her work primarily focuses on semiconductor development and defect studies, where she has pioneered a nondestructive technique for damage assessment in engineering materials. Dr. Selim's research is at the forefront of materials science, where she has developed three spectrometers specifically designed for studying functional materials. Her inventive approach has not only advanced the understanding of material properties but also provided practical solutions for assessing material integrity without causing damage. Her contributions have been recognized through her involvement with two Energy Frontier Research Centers, where she collaborates with other leading scientists to push the boundaries of energy-related research.
