Chitta Baral

Professor Chitta Baral is a distinguished faculty member in the School of Computing & Augmented Intelligence at Arizona State University (ASU). With a robust academic foundation, he earned his B.Tech in Computer Science & Engineering from the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur. He further advanced his studies by obtaining both his Master's and Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Maryland, College Park, where he honed his expertise in the field. Before joining ASU, Professor Baral contributed significantly to the academic community at the University of Texas at El Paso, where he served as an assistant and associate professor from September 1991 to August 1999. His tenure there was marked by a dedication to teaching and research, laying the groundwork for his future endeavors in Artificial Intelligence. At ASU, Professor Baral leads the laboratory of Cognition and Intelligence, where he directs cutting-edge research in various domains of Artificial Intelligence.
