Sarah M. Fitz, DNP, is a distinguished Associate Department Head and Specialty Director at the University of Illinois Chicago College of Nursing. With a robust background as an adult Acute Care Nurse Practitioner, she has dedicated her career to advancing nursing practices and improving patient outcomes. Sarah earned her Master of Science in Nursing from Vanderbilt University, followed by a Doctor of Nursing Practice from the UIC College of Nursing. Her doctoral research was pivotal in enhancing hospital discharge processes, specifically aimed at reducing readmissions for lung transplant recipients.
