Xu Wang

Known for excellence in the field of semiconductor devices, Xu Wang is a distinguished academic and medical professional with a diverse background in both medicine and engineering. Currently, he serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine and Medical Specialties at UI Health, which is part of the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC). His role at UI Health involves not only teaching but also contributing to the advancement of medical practices through innovative research and clinical applications. Xu Wang's academic journey is marked by his significant contributions to the field of engineering, particularly during his tenure as a Visiting Professor at UIC's College of Engineering. From February 2014 to April 2015, he was part of the Laboratory for Energy and Switching-Electronics Systems, where he focused his research on optically switched Gallium Nitride (GaN)-based pulsed power semiconductor devices. This work has been instrumental in advancing the understanding and application of GaN technology in power electronics, which has implications for a wide range of industries. After his impactful period at UIC, Xu Wang continued to expand his academic and research horizons by taking on the role of Associate Professor at Xian University of Technology. In this position, he has been able to further his research interests and mentor the next generation of engineers and researchers. His work at Xian University of Technology continues to reflect his dedication to the development of cutting-edge semiconductor technologies.
