David Fisher

Dr. David Fisher is driving progress in the field of chemistry and environmental science as a Senior University Lecturer at the New Jersey Institute of Technology. With a robust academic background and extensive professional experience, Dr. Fisher brings a wealth of knowledge to his role. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry & Cell Biology from the University of California-San Diego in 1997, laying a strong foundation for his future endeavors in the scientific community. Furthering his education, Dr. Fisher pursued a Master of Science in Criminal Justice with a specialization in Forensic Science from CUNY John Jay College, which he completed in 2013. This unique combination of biochemistry and forensic science has equipped him with a diverse skill set, enabling him to contribute significantly to both academic and practical applications in his field. Before joining NJIT, Dr. Fisher dedicated 17 years of his career to the New York City Office of Chief Medical Examiner, where he served as a Criminalist. During his tenure, he specialized in DNA typing, a critical area in forensic science that plays a pivotal role in criminal investigations. His expertise in this domain was recognized through his qualification as an expert witness in court over 40 times, underscoring his credibility and the trust placed in his professional judgment.
