

Shiriki Kumanyika
Dr. Shiriki K. Kumanyika is a distinguished Research Professor in Community Health and Prevention at the Drexel Dornsife School of Public Health. Since joining Drexel in 2015, she has been instrumental in shaping the university's approach to public health, particularly through her role as a founding member of the Council on Black Health. Her work is deeply rooted in addressing health disparities and enhancing nutrition-related chronic disease outcomes, with a special focus on the Black American community. Dr. Kumanyika's research is renowned for its emphasis on equity-focused obesity policies and programs. She has been a leading voice in examining the targeted marketing of unhealthy foods and the impact of food pricing on public health.
