Professor working to advance the understanding of pediatric infectious diseases, Dr. Karen Fowler is a distinguished faculty member in the Division of Pediatric Infectious Diseases at the University of Alabama at Birmingham's Department of Pediatrics. With a robust academic background and extensive research experience, Dr. Fowler is dedicated to improving child health through innovative research and education. Dr. Fowler earned her Ph.D. in Pediatrics, which has been instrumental in shaping her career in pediatric infectious diseases. Her academic journey began with a Master of Science in Microbiology from the University of Georgia, where she developed a strong foundation in the biological sciences. She further honed her expertise by obtaining a Doctor of Public Health in Epidemiology, specializing in Infectious Disease, from UAB's Heersink School of Medicine.
