Lauren Nassetta

Dr. Lauren Nassetta is solving complex problems in pediatric healthcare and physician well-being as an Associate Professor and Chief Wellness Officer in the Division of Pediatric Hospital Medicine at the University of Alabama at Birmingham's Heersink School of Medicine. With a robust educational background, Dr. Nassetta earned her undergraduate degree from Birmingham-Southern College before obtaining her M.D. from the University of Alabama School of Medicine. Her commitment to pediatric care was further solidified through her residency and fellowship at Children's of Alabama and the University of Alabama at Birmingham. In her role at UAB, Dr. Nassetta has taken on significant leadership responsibilities, including serving as the Associate Program Director for the Pediatrics Residency Program. Her dedication to medical education and ethical practice is also reflected in her position as an Advisor to the UASOM Honor Council. Her contributions to teaching have been recognized with the Dean's Excellence Award in Teaching for Junior Faculty in 2016, highlighting her impact on the next generation of medical professionals.
