Aleksandar Milenković
Passionate about exploring solutions for the future of technology, Dr. Aleksandar MilenkoviÄ serves as the Department Chair and Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Alabama in Huntsville. He obtained his Ph.D., M.S., and Dipl. Ing. degrees from the University of Belgrade, Serbia, which laid the foundation for his illustrious career in academia and research. Before joining UAH in 2001, Dr. MilenkoviÄ enriched his academic experience with roles at Dublin City University and the University of Belgrade. Dr. MilenkoviÄ's research interests are diverse and impactful, focusing on computer architecture, energy-efficient computing, embedded systems, wireless sensor networks, and hardware design. His dedication to advancing these fields is evident in his impressive portfolio of over 140 peer-reviewed publications and five U.S. patents. These contributions have significantly influenced both academic circles and industry practices, showcasing his commitment to innovation and excellence. At UAH, Dr. MilenkoviÄ leads the Laboratory for Computer Architecture and Systems (LaCASA), where he spearheads cutting-edge research initiatives. Additionally, he co-leads the mHealth Laboratory, which focuses on developing mobile health technologies that promise to revolutionize healthcare delivery and accessibility. His leadership in these labs underscores his ability to bridge theoretical research with practical applications, driving forward the boundaries of what is possible in engineering and technology.
