Dr. Allison Jane Macpherson is passionate about exploring the intricate interplay between sociocultural factors and health outcomes, particularly focusing on substance use within underrepresented minority communities. As an Assistant Professor at the University of Arizona's College of Medicine in Tucson, she brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her role. Dr. Macpherson earned her Doctor of Health Education degree from A.T. Still University, which laid the foundation for her deep commitment to understanding and addressing health disparities. Her research primarily investigates the impact of acculturation on substance use, aiming to uncover the nuanced ways in which cultural adaptation influences health behaviors.
