

Joel A Muraco
Joel A. Muraco is an esteemed Assistant Professor of Practice of Psychology and holds the primary title of Assistant Professor of Family Studies-Human Development at the University of Arizona. With a Ph.D. in Family Studies and Human Development from the same institution, Prof. Muraco has dedicated his academic career to exploring the intricacies of LGBTQ+ experiences, career and professional development, and romantic relationships. His research is pivotal in understanding the dynamics of human development within these contexts. Prof. Muraco is committed to delivering a comprehensive and engaging educational experience to his students. He teaches a diverse array of courses that reflect his research interests and expertise. These courses include FCSC 202 (Research Methods), HDFS 101 (Sexuality Across the Lifespan), HDFS 117 (Lifespan Human Development), HDFS 150B1 (Men, Fatherhood, & Families), HDFS 323 (Infancy & Child Development), HDFS 450 (Human Sexuality & Relations), and HDFS 487 (Advanced Family Relations). Through these courses, he aims to equip students with a deep understanding of human development and the factors that influence it. In recognition of his outstanding contributions to teaching, Prof. Muraco has been honored with the Bart Cardon Early Career Faculty Teaching Award from the College of Agriculture, Life, and Environmental Sciences at the University of Arizona.
