Ah Ran Koo

Fostering collaboration across sectors to enhance the understanding and appreciation of art in diverse communities, Dr. Ah Ran Koo is an Associate Professor of Art Education at California State University, Fresno. With a robust academic background, she earned her Ph.D. in Arts Administration, Education, and Policy from Ohio State University and an MFA in Painting from Ewha Womans University in Seoul, Korea. Her scholarly pursuits are deeply rooted in community art, visual storying, critical multiculturalism, and participatory action research, areas in which she has made significant contributions through her research. Dr. Koo's work has been widely recognized and disseminated through numerous national and international conferences, where she has presented her findings and insights. Her dedication to community-engaged art practices has also been acknowledged through various grants and scholarships, underscoring her commitment to bridging the gap between academia and community art initiatives. In addition to her research and teaching, Dr. Koo is actively involved in professional service.
