Joshua A. Marks

Dr. Joshua A. Marks focuses on advancing surgical critical care and operational resource efficiency at Thomas Jefferson University. As an Associate Professor, he plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of surgical education and patient care. Dr. Marks serves as the Medical Director of the Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU), where he oversees the delivery of high-quality care to critically ill patients. His leadership extends to his role as the Medical Co-Director of the Center for Operational Resource Efficiency (CORE) and Transfer Center, where he works to optimize resource utilization and improve patient transfer processes. In addition to his administrative responsibilities, Dr. Marks is deeply committed to education and mentorship. He is the Program Director of the Surgical Critical Care Fellowship Program, guiding fellows through rigorous training to become leaders in the field. As the Associate Program Director of the General Surgery Residency Program, he contributes to the comprehensive training of surgical residents, ensuring they are well-prepared for the challenges of modern surgery.
