Dr. Brooke Salzman investigates challenges and opportunities in decision-making on cancer screening, particularly with older patients. As an Associate Professor in the Department of Family & Community Medicine at Thomas Jefferson University, she brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her role. Dr. Salzman earned her medical degree from Jefferson Medical College, where she also completed her residency and fellowship, solidifying her expertise in Family Practice and Geriatric Medicine. Board-certified in both Family Practice and Geriatric Medicine, Dr. Salzman is deeply committed to enhancing care for medically and socially complex patients. Her clinical interests are reflected in her role as the Medical Director of Jefferson Geriatrics, where she oversees the Geriatric Assessment Program. This program is designed to provide comprehensive evaluations and personalized care plans for older adults, ensuring they receive the most appropriate and effective care. Dr. Salzman's research is centered on the intricacies of cancer screening decision-making processes with older adults. She is particularly interested in how these decisions can be optimized to improve patient outcomes and quality of life.
