

Laura Backstrom
Bridging the gap between disciplines to tackle complex social phenomena, Laura Backstrom is an Associate Professor of Sociology at Florida Atlantic University. Since joining the faculty in 2016, she has been instrumental in shaping the department's academic landscape. Laura earned her Ph.D. from Indiana University, where she honed her expertise in social issues, culture, gender, and childhoodâareas that remain central to her research and teaching endeavors.
