Rifat Azam
Professor Rifat Azam is a distinguished scholar conducting research in international taxation, Israeli democracy, human rights, and tax law. Currently a Visiting Professor and Scholar at NSU Shepard Broad College of Law, he brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to his role. Professor Azam holds an LLB, LLM, and LLD from the prestigious Hebrew University, which laid the foundation for his extensive academic and professional journey. Throughout his career, Professor Azam has held esteemed positions at several top-tier institutions, including IDC-Herzliya, Columbia Law School, Harvard Law School, and the University of Michigan Law School. His teaching and research have significantly contributed to the fields of tax law and policy, particularly in the context of e-commerce and international taxation. His scholarly work is widely recognized, with numerous publications in leading law journals that reflect his deep engagement with complex legal issues. In addition to his academic pursuits, Professor Azam has practical legal experience, having clerked for Chief Justice Aharon Barak of the Israeli Supreme Court.
