Julie Rodman

Dr. Julie Rodman is a distinguished Professor of Optometry at Nova Southeastern University's College of Optometry, bringing a wealth of knowledge and experience to her role. She began her academic journey at Brandeis University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Neuroscience. Her passion for optometry led her to the New England College of Optometry, where she obtained her Doctor of Optometry degree. Further honing her skills, Dr. Rodman completed a residency in hospital-based optometry at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Brockton/West Roxbury. With a career spanning various professional settings, Dr. Rodman has gained extensive experience in both private and HMO practices. Her commitment to advancing the field of optometry brought her to Nova Southeastern University in 2000, where she has since made significant contributions. As the Chief of The Eye Care Institute - Broward, she plays a pivotal role in overseeing patient care and clinical operations. In addition to her administrative duties, Dr. Rodman is deeply involved in academia. She teaches in the Optometry Theory and Methods Laboratory, where she imparts her knowledge and expertise to the next generation of optometrists. Her dedication to teaching has been recognized with numerous awards for teaching excellence, reflecting her commitment to fostering a dynamic and engaging learning environment. Dr. Rodman's research interests are centered around retinal disease, optical coherence tomography, and diseases of the vitreo-retinal interface.
