Yuho Kim

Dr. Yuho Kim is an advocate for innovation in the field of muscle health and disease, serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physical Therapy and Kinesiology at the University of Massachusetts Lowell. With a Ph.D. in Exercise Science from Syracuse University, Dr. Kim has further honed his expertise through postdoctoral fellowships at York University and the National Institutes of Health. His research is centered around the pivotal role of mitochondria in muscle health, focusing on identifying mitochondrial markers and systems that are essential for muscle regeneration and degeneration processes. Dr. Kim's work is deeply rooted in exercise physiology and muscle physiology, where he explores the intricate mechanisms that govern muscle function and health. His investigations aim to unravel the complexities of mitochondrial dynamics and their implications in muscle diseases, contributing to a broader understanding of how these cellular powerhouses influence muscle regeneration and degeneration. In addition to his research, Dr. Kim is committed to fostering a collaborative and innovative academic environment. He actively engages with students and colleagues to advance the field of muscle health, encouraging interdisciplinary approaches to tackle the challenges associated with muscle degeneration and related diseases. Through his dedication to teaching and research, Dr. Kim continues to make significant contributions to the understanding of muscle physiology and mitochondrial function.
