Wei Niu

Wei Niu is an esteemed Associate Professor in the Department of Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. With a robust academic background, he earned his PhD in Bioorganic Chemistry from Michigan State University. Prior to this, he completed his Master of Science in Biophysics and Bachelor of Science in Chemistry at Tsinghua University, where he laid the foundation for his future research endeavors. Professor Niu's research is primarily focused on the fields of metabolic engineering, synthetic biology, and biocatalyst development. His work is dedicated to the innovative production of value-added chemicals from renewable feedstocks, as well as the synthesis of pharmaceutical precursors and energy molecules.
