Dr. Pam Carey is an advocate for innovation in the fields of criminal justice and public administration. As an Adjunct Professor in the School of Criminology & Criminal Justice at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, she brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her students. Dr. Carey earned her Ph.D. in Public Administration from Capella University, which laid the foundation for her distinguished career. Before joining the academic community, Dr. Carey had an extensive career in criminal justice and public administration. She served in various roles at the state level in Texas, most notably as the Deputy Director of Substance Abuse Treatment for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. Her work in this capacity involved developing and implementing programs aimed at reducing recidivism through effective substance abuse treatment strategies. In addition to her work in public administration, Dr. Carey has a rich background in higher education. She has spent 15 years teaching courses in criminal justice and business, sharing her insights and experiences with students who are eager to make a difference in these fields. Her teaching philosophy emphasizes the importance of practical application of theoretical knowledge, preparing students to tackle real-world challenges. Dr. Carey's research interests focus on the intersections of criminal justice, substance abuse treatment, and public administration.
