

David Bearden
Dr. David Bearden has been appointed as the Dean of the College of Pharmacy at Oregon State University, with his tenure beginning on March 20, 2023. His association with OSU dates back to 2001, marking over two decades of dedicated service and leadership within the institution. Before his current role, Dr. Bearden served as the interim dean, where he demonstrated exceptional leadership and vision. In his previous capacity as Chair of the Department of Pharmacy Practice, Dr. Bearden was instrumental in expanding clinical practice partnerships and securing faculty funding, which significantly enhanced the department's capabilities and outreach. His efforts have been pivotal in fostering a collaborative environment that bridges academic and clinical practice. Dr. Bearden also served as the Associate Dean for Academic Integration and Clinical Advancement, where he played a crucial role in strengthening the university's ties with Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU). This collaboration led to the establishment of a joint Doctor of Pharmacy degree program and facilitated numerous research collaborations, further enhancing the academic and clinical landscape of the university. His clinical expertise is well-established, having served as an inpatient clinical specialist in infectious diseases pharmacotherapy at both OHSU and the Portland Veterans Affairs Medical Center. His contributions to the field have been recognized by his peers, earning him the distinction of Fellow of the American College of Clinical Pharmacy and the Society of Infectious Diseases Pharmacists. Dr. Bearden's academic journey began with a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago. He further honed his expertise through residencies and a fellowship in infectious diseases pharmacotherapy, equipping him with the knowledge and skills that have been instrumental in his professional accomplishments.
