Michael Blackburn

Professor Michael Blackburn is conducting influential research on the intersection of music performance and education at Saint Mary's College of California. As a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Music program, he brings a wealth of experience and expertise to his role. Professor Blackburn earned his Bachelor of Arts from Saint Mary's College and went on to complete his Master's in Conducting at the University of California, Santa Cruz. His academic journey has been marked by a deep commitment to both the theoretical and practical aspects of music. With a rich background as an international singer, Professor Blackburn has graced stages around the world, showcasing his vocal talents and contributing to diverse musical projects. At Saint Mary's College, Professor Blackburn is at the helm of several vocal ensembles, including the Glee, Chamber, and Jazz Singers.
