Dan Hoffman

With a visionary perspective, Dan Hoffman addresses the evolving landscape of education through his role as an Associate Professor in Learning Design and Technology at the College of Education. Stationed in Wist Hall 230, Dan is dedicated to advancing the field of education by integrating cutting-edge technology and innovative teaching methodologies. Dan's academic journey is both diverse and comprehensive, beginning with a B.A. in English Literature & Drama in 1998. This foundation in the arts was complemented by a M.S. in Education in 2003, which paved the way for his specialization in instructional technology. His pursuit of excellence in this domain led him to earn an Ed. M in Instructional Technology and Media in 2012, followed by an Ed. D. in the same field in 2013. His research interests are broad and impactful, encompassing Digital Learning, Interactive Multimedia, Games and Simulations, Media Literacy, and Computer Science Education. Dan is particularly focused on Measurement, Evaluation & Assessment, and Technology & STEM, areas where he has developed significant expertise. His work aims to bridge the gap between traditional educational practices and the dynamic demands of the digital age. Dan's commitment to education is reflected in his innovative approach to teaching and learning. He is passionate about using interactive multimedia and digital tools to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes. His work in games and simulations is particularly noteworthy, as he explores their potential to transform educational experiences and foster critical thinking skills.
