Dr. Jo Ann Davidson has a longstanding interest in the intricate and profound field of Systematic Theology. As a Professor at Andrews University Theological Seminary, she brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her students and colleagues. Dr. Davidson's academic journey began at Andrews University, where she earned both her BA and MA, before advancing to Trinity Evangelical Divinity School to complete her PhD in Systematic Theology. Growing up as the daughter of missionary parents, Dr. Davidson was immersed in the values and teachings of the Seventh-day Adventist tradition from an early age. Her deep-rooted connection to her faith is further enriched by her heritage as a fourth-generation Seventh-day Adventist. This background has profoundly influenced her approach to theology and her commitment to exploring its complexities. Dr. Davidson holds the distinction of being the first woman to teach in the Theology department at the seminary, a testament to her pioneering spirit and dedication to her field.
