Known for excellence in the field of school psychology, Renette Portecop-Prentice serves as the School Psychology Program Coordinator at Andrews University. A native of Berrien Springs, MI, she has dedicated her career to advancing educational practices and supporting students with diverse needs. Renette's academic journey began with a B.A. in Elementary Education from the University of the Virgin Islands, followed by an M.A. in Educational and Developmental Psychology and an Ed.S. in School Psychology from Andrews University. Before joining the faculty at Andrews University as an assistant professor in 2017, Renette accumulated over 11 years of invaluable experience as a school psychologist. Her practical experience in the field has greatly informed her teaching and research, allowing her to bridge the gap between theory and practice effectively. Her commitment to education is evident in her work, where she focuses on enhancing teacher self-efficacy, particularly in the context of educating students with autism spectrum disorder. Renette's research interests are deeply rooted in understanding and improving the educational experiences of students on the autism spectrum.
