Abram Brummett

Dr. Abram Brummett serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Foundational Medical Studies at the Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine. Since joining the institution in May 2020, he has been dedicated to imparting knowledge in medical humanities and clinical bioethics to aspiring medical professionals. His role extends beyond academia as he actively contributes as a clinical ethics consultant for Corewell Health William Beaumont University Hospital, where he provides guidance on complex ethical dilemmas in healthcare settings. Dr. Brummett's academic journey is marked by a Ph.D. in Health Care Ethics from Saint Louis University, complemented by an M.A. in history from Murray State University and an M.A. in philosophy from the University of Missouri-St. Louis. His diverse educational background enriches his teaching and research, allowing him to approach ethical issues from multiple perspectives. Notably, he is among the pioneering recipients of the certification in clinical ethics consultation (HEC-C) awarded by the American Society of Bioethics and Humanities, underscoring his expertise in the field.
