Achintya Bezbaruah

Dr. Achintya Bezbaruah is a distinguished Gehrts Presidential Professor in the Civil, Construction, and Environmental Engineering department at North Dakota State University (NDSU). With a robust academic background and a passion for environmental engineering, Dr. Bezbaruah has made significant contributions to both academia and the field of environmental science. He is renowned for his leadership as the Director of the NAE Grand Challenges Scholars Program, where he mentors students to tackle some of the most pressing global engineering challenges. Additionally, as an Advisor for Engineers Without Borders, he inspires students to engage in impactful community service projects that address real-world problems. Dr. Bezbaruah's academic journey began with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Assam Engineering College, followed by a Master of Science in Environmental Science and Engineering from the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology. He further honed his expertise by earning a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln.
